Fiddler's Green is owned and operated by the Johns Family. It has a mission to produce handcrafted estate grown wines of consistently high quality, style and elegance for the discerning consumer. The vineyard comprises a total planted area of 35 acres in four grape varieties: Riesling, Pinot Noir, Sauvignon Blanc and Chardonnay. It is situated on a superior site overlooking the Waipara River on a north-facing terrace. This combined with the Waipara's hot dry summers and long autumns results in grapes of intense flavour and optimal ripeness. Fiddler's Green is a foundation member of Sustainable Winegrowing New Zealand, which provides a framework for environmentally and economically sustainable viticultural practices. Very welcoming of visitors and situated on Georges Road, the vineyard announces itself to the world by it’s imposing double gates and entrance way.
