Amor-Bendall Wines was established in 1998 by Noel Amor and Alison Bendall, and produced its first vintage in 1999. It is a boutique winery with capacity to produce 15,000 litres of wine. While concentrating its small production on Gewürztraminer and Chardonnay, both being varieties that grow well in Gisborne, it has recently added Sauvignon Blanc, Pinot Gris and Pinotage to its range. While still very young, Amor-Bendall Wines has collected over 80 medals and media awards since establishment. Of recent note was the award for Champion Sauvignon Blanc at the Air New Zealand Wine Awards 2004. Amor-Bendall continues to be a winery worth watching.
