Cable Bay Vineyards on Waiheke Island is dedicated to producing hand-crafted New Zealand Wines known for their subtlety, elegance and depth.
Our winemaking philosophy is to respect the unique characteristics of the individual Waiheke vineyards. The winemaking process focuses on small lot winemaking to handle the separate parcels of fruit from the various vineyards. We then use these small lots to create the final product and achieve our goal of balanced harmonious wines with layers of flavour and interest.
To complement the portfolio of Waiheke Island wines, we source grapes from ‘grower friends’ in Marlborough and Central Otago. This allows us to make the most of New Zealand’s diversity in climate and geography.
Cable Bay since opening in 2007 has developed a enviable reputation for great food and wine. From within the award-winning restaurant and wine bar, bush and sea views overlooking the inner Hauraki Gulf and back to Auckland City are enriched by an extensive art collection, featuring sculpture and paintings by leading New Zealand artists.
