Fromm Winery - La Strada is owned by Georg Fromm and Pol Lenzinger who also own a winery above the Rhine River valley in the south-east of Switzerland. Fromm is a small boutique New Zealand winery which produces distinctive, intensely flavoured classical styled wines. Unusual for a Marlborough winery, Fromm specialises in reds (especially Pinot Noir) and refuses to make a Sauvignon Blanc. In fact, the home vineyard is planted only in red varieties and Gewürztraminer. While a relatively new winery, Fromm wines have met with success and rank with the best of the region. The Fromm's attribute their success to "hands on" vineyard management including organic techniques and hand picking of grapes and of course, the skill of their winemaker Hätsch Kalberer .
