Georges Michel Wine Estate is situated in the heart of Marlborough’s Golden Mile in the Wairau Valley where the terroir is renowned for its consistent production of fine fruit and intense flavours.
Established in 1997 by French born entrepreneur, Georges Michel, it is his daughter, Swan, who is the family winemaker. After her degree in Viticulture and Oenology at Lincoln University, Swan went to France for several vintages working with Chateau Le Grand Verdus in Bordeaux, Domaine des Lambray in Burgundy and Henri Bourgeois in Sancerre.
Our first range is produced under the Golden Mile label and these wines show a perfect balance between Marlborough’s distinctive fruit and winemaking techniques. Above that is the La Reserve range of premium wines, reflecting not only the famous Marlborough region but also the European influence under which they are made. There is also the ultra-premium Legend range; very limited and representing the very best the vintage has to offer.
