Grey’s Fine Wines vineyards are located in Brightwater, a small suburb of Nelson, New Zealand. Brightwater has fast become known as a premium wine region within Nelson. The vineyards sit between the Wai-iti and Wairoa rivers. These rivers induce air movement, which with drainage through strong alluvial soils enhance the ripening process with hot summer days and cool nights. The cooler nights help to intensify fruit flavours and the hot summer days ripen the fruit perfectly.

Premium wine begins in the vineyard, not in the winery. Our vineyards are managed with a commitment to quality, low cropping and attention to detail. We have a hands on approach, with manual shoot and bunch thinning, as well as hand and mechanical leaf plucking, to help strive for the highest quality grapes.
