Te Whau Vineyard is a truly magnificent wine and food destination. It is situated on an 11 hectare property on Waiheke Island at the eastern headland of Putiki Bay and at the end of Te Whau Peninsula. The vineyard produces very good Chardonnay and Cabernet Sauvignon predominant wines. Te Whau Vineyard is dedicated to environmentally sustainable vineyard management practices, and is currently in the process of converting to fully organic and bio-dynamic viticulture. These management practices seek to protect the vineyard and surrounding ecosystem through minimal-impact viticulture techniques. Located on the vineyard is a stunning architecturally designed winery/restaurant/wine tasting facility that provides visitors with 360 degree panoramic views of the vineyard, island and coast. Te Whau Vineyard was named, in 2004, one of the thirteen 'Finest Winery Restaurants in the World' by Wine International Magazine, London, and in February 2005 The New Zealand Herald newspaper awarded the restaurant a five star rating.

Te Whau wines are available direct from the winery, by mail order and internet, from a small number of specialist independent wine retailers and can be found in some of New Zealand's best restaurants.
