Our small vineyard surrounds our family home, close to West Melton. We have Pinot Noir, Pinot Gris, Riesling, Chardonnay and Gewurztraminer grapes.

Our wine takes its name from the Waimakiriri river. The ancient braided course of this river has shaped our vineyard. It's legacy is a free draining soil littered with greywacke stones and ideal for growing grapes.

We tend our vines by hand and crop them lightly to allow full expression of each variety's characteristics and to ensure quality grapes enter the winery. The grapes are all hand harvested at optimum ripeness.

Our grapes are carefully crafted into wine by Theo Coles at his Omihi winery.

Our aim is to produce quality handcrafted boutique wines which reflect both the local terroir and the passion that has gone into their production.
