Located 15 minutes drive from central Queenstown, overlooking Lake Hayes and back dropped by the Remarkables Mountain range, is the iconic stone building which houses Amisfield’s Bistro and Cellar Door.
This distinctive Central Otago wine complex integrates with the landscape through the combining of local schist, copper roofing and recycled hardwood timber.
Opened in 2005, the Bistro offers a daily changing a la carte menu and the “Trust the Chef” signature menu which offers a shared dining experience, with dishes selected by the chef based on fresh produce and ingredients available on the day. The food is an expression of local seasonal ingredients simply prepared, and an ultimate compliment to the wines.
Located in the premier winegrowing centre of Central Otago, Gibbston Valley Restaurant offers a year-round selection of the best ingredients sourced from local artisan suppliers and prepared with a Mediterranean flair.
Our expertly-crafted menu was designed to perfectly complement our award-winning wines. It features everything from gourmet coffees and fresh-baked pastries to fine meat and cheese platters, savoury main dishes, soups, salads, house-made fresh pasta and a selection of delightful desserts. Guests have the option to dine al fresco in our sun-drenched courtyard during our long, sunny summer season or they can enjoy the warm ambiance inside during winter.
The Winery Restaurant at Mt Difficulty provides a relaxed atmosphere in which to enjoy a delicious lunch. The kitchen is open, which offers a unique insight to a chef’s world.
On a fine day the outdoor terrace is the perfect spot to take in the flavours of the region while enjoying the uniquely Central Otago views. During winter the view can be enjoyed from behind glass, with fireplaces providing warmth and ambience.
The chef produces imaginative cuisine, and the menu showcases the freshest of produce, with a choice of substantial fare or platters to share. All main meal options come with suggested wine matches, though diners are welcome to make their own choices at our wine tasting counter.
Lunch is served from 12 noon until 4pm daily, with full a la carte menu available until 3.30pm and platters from 3.30-4pm.
Reservations are recommended – demand is high year round and much of our seating is weather dependent.
We accept reservations for 1-8 people; larger groups are considered on request.
