Hunter’s vineyard and garden restaurant has been operated by Alain Hauswirth since October 2012. Alain and his team welcome you to relax in our beautiful garden, covered terrace or cosy indoor area, enjoy a glass of Hunter’s Wines or a local Renaissance beer with your lunch.
Alain has been in the hospitality industry in Marlborough since 1995, setting up various successful cafes/restaurants and has catered for Marlborough’s leading wineries since 1999. Well known for a simple approach to food, letting the ingredients speak for themselves, his passion is in Franco/Asian cuisine and a recent cooking experience in Hong Kong has further enhanced his passion.
Alain offers My Cuisine at Hunter’s vineyard restaurant and his team look forward to making your visit to this iconic Marlborough winery a memorable one.
We are open for lunch 7days a week and specialise in evening functions for 20 people plus as well as a great venue for a wedding up to 80 people.

We opened our Cellar Door and Cafe in September 2011. Converted from an earlier home of Tom and Fiona’s, it still has that welcoming warm feel.
Based around seasonally inspired cooking and our range of organically grown wines, the Cellar Door and Cafe is a great showcase for the honest, down-to-earth produce that New Zealand’s South Island is justifiably famous for.
A familial air surrounds you. First time visitors at our vineyard cafe often describe a feeling they can’t put their finger on, like they are coming home. Something to do with the infectious laughter bubbling from the kitchen and the mostly organic food cooked with love and attention.
Lots of locals, of course, do come back. They’re part of the family too.

In 2015, Seresin Estate will be hosting Chef Nic Poelaert at their occasional restaurant, nestled amongst the native bush overlooking Waterfall Bay in the Marlborough Sounds. Nic (of Brooks in Melbourne) will be cooking a five course menu that not only complements the Estate’s wines, but also an array of local ingredients.
Guests will travel to and from the Waterfall Bay property by boat, sailing through the inimitable Marlborough Sounds, taking in the beautiful and peaceful views and eventually mooring in the solitude and pristine environment of the restaurant.
