Coxhead Creek vineyard is located on elevated slopes above the Matakana Coast, one hour north of Auckland. The vineyard enjoys free-draining soils and a climate likened to bordeaux. It was in her mid-twenties, on returning home from extended overseas experience that Tracy embarked on the now world-renowned Wine Science Diploma at Hawkes Bays Eastern Institute of Technology. The following years saw her completing vintages in Italy, the Napa Valley, Bordeaux and Switzerland. She returned to Hawkes Bay and cemented herself as winemaker for Lombardi Wines and Black Barn Vineyards. With a perfect mix of merlot, malbec and cabernet franc at Ti Point Vineyard, Tracy employs a philosophy of minimal handling in the winery, to create wines that are supple, sexy and very food-friendly
