Kennedy Point Vineyard
Kennedy Point Vineyard and winery, located on the southwest side of Waiheke Island, focuses on growing and producing fine Cabernet Sauvignon and Syrah wines that reflect the terroir of the land. Accommodation in the vineyard guest house provides spectacular views of the Hauraki Gulf and sunsets over Rangitoto.
Visitors can relax and roam Kennedy Point’s 13 acres of vineyard, olive groves, pasture and surrounding waterfront areas. Award winning Waiheke wine and art trails, walking trails and beaches, provide visitors with an increasing number of activities to enjoy while on holiday.
Kennedy Point Organic Winery is tucked among the Pohutakawa Trees overlooking Waiheke Island’s Kennedy Bay. Sit and enjoy the stunning sea views or relax in picturesque picnic area in the Olive Grove.
It is the perfect setting to sample our award-winning Organic wines, extra virgin olive oil and Kennedy Point honey. Our tasting plate selections are paired with the wines to enhance the entire experience.
We are open from 11-3pm daily for wine, olive, avocado oil and honey tasting.
We offer customized tours, private long lunches, group wine tasting or afternoon celebrations for groups from 8 to 30 people during the summer season.

Our vineyard is hand-tended by our team led by vineyard manager Heike Sonnenschein to ensure that we get the best possible grapes for our wines.
Today Kennedy Point has five vineyards on Waiheke Island. Oakura Bay was also planted in 1996 has the same varietals as Kennedy Point plus Malbec and Chardonnay. Whakarite Bay, planted in 1999, is predominantly Merlot. Jasa Vineyard, planted in 2001 is 100% Syrah Grapes. Whakanewha Bay is 100% Chardonnay.
Kennedy Point home Vineyard was established in 1996 by Neal Kunimura and Susan McCarthy with Bordeaux varietals and Syrah. From the beginning, the philosophy of the family owned vineyard has been to focus on producing the very best wines from the site matched with thorough attention in the Vineyard and wine production. The vineyard is planted on steep north facing slopes on clay soils and organic and biodynamic methods are used in the Vineyard.
