Two Paddocks is a small family wine producing business that is entirely dedicated to making great wine. We started in 1993 with modest ambitions and first planted five acres of Pinot Noir at our original little vineyard at Gibbston, Central Otago in the deep south of New Zealand.
We started in 1993 with modest ambitions and first planted five acres of Pinot Noir at our original little vineyard at Gibbston, Central Otago in the deep south of New Zealand. At the same time, our friend Roger Donaldson planted the land next door, hence the name Two Paddocks. (Rogers paddock proved to be a slow starter, which meant we had to go it on our own; however we kept the title. His brand, Sleeping Dogs, takes its name from the first film we made together.)
Two Paddocks - Four Beautiful Vineyards
Committed to excellence and organic principles.
Our original vineyard. We planted here in 1993 in the heart of the Gibbston Valley. 100% Pinot Noir. 4.6 hectares.
The Last Chance Paddock
A dramatically beautiful site, ideal for Pinot Noir. Three hectares only, planted in 1998. Close to Alexandra and perhaps the worlds most southerly vineyard.
Our largest vineyard, and also our headquarters and home farm. At the other end of the Alexandra Basin. As well as Pinot and Riesling, here we have orchards, organic vegetables, lavender, cows, pigs and so on.
The Fusilier Paddock
Our last acquisition (2013), located in the very heart of Central Otago wine on Felton Road in Bannockburn. Another superb site, now giving us fruit from all three major Central Valleys. Six hectares, all Pinot Noir.
