Overview
The Askerne Late Harvest Semillon 2019 is a stunning dessert wine crafted from grapes grown on the top terrace of the Askerne vineyard. Selectively handpicked, the fruit represents a careful balance of late-season ripeness and medium noble botrytis infection, enhancing its complexity and depth. Fermented and aged for 8 months in oak barriques, the final blend features 35% new French oak and 15% second-fill oak, imparting richness and structure.
Tasting Notes
Aromas of sweet lemon and ginger spice interlace with dried apricots, marmalade, and burnt caramel, creating a wonderfully aromatic bouquet. The palate is luxuriously layered with concentrated notes of apricot and ripe lemon, supported by a vibrant backbone of juicy citrus acidity. The finish is opulent, with rich spice and luscious fruit flavours, delivering a perfect balance of sweetness and freshness.
