Dried crushed black currant leaf with a light touch of oak on the nose. A clear and spicy, lovely juicy fruit freshness of ripe plums, black currants and wild summer herbs give way to a lithe, elegant, and mineral derived palate. The wine has good texture and depth with lively, vibrant acidity and lingering length.

Description

Active and careful vineyard management is vital for growing quality grapes. Good grapes make good wine. 2017 vintage presented a long growing season allowing the fruit to ripen well and catch the best of the late autumn sun. Hawkshead Pinot Noir is aged for 11 months in French oak barrels with 25% new oak. Drinking beautifully now, and can be cellared for 5 – 7 years.
