WINEMAKING NOTES
This wine was made from grapes grown on both the stony, sandy lower terrace of the vineyard and the heavier upper terrace. The varietal mix was 34 % Merlot, 28.3 % Cabernet Franc, 27.9 % Malbec, 7 % Cabernet Sauvignon and 3.4 % Petit Verdot.
The grapes were soaked for 4 to 7 days then fermented for 5 to 6 days. The wine was then aged for 14 months in oak barrels, 43% new including some American and Hungarian oak.

TASTING NOTES
A deep, beguiling nose of smoky red and black fruits, plums, berries and spices gives way to a ripe, balanced palate with effortless length and lingering, complex flavours. This wine can be enjoyed as it is but will develop with careful cellaring.
