The Castaño Solanera is an expertly crafted blend of Monastrell (70%), Cabernet Sauvignon (18%), and Garnacha Tintorera (12%), originating from hand-selected bush and trellis vines in Yecla. Aged for 10 months in French (70%) and American (30%) oak barrels, this barrel-aged red wine exemplifies a perfect harmony of rich fruit character and subtle oak integration.
Tasting Notes
In the glass, it shines with an intense cherry-red hue, clean and bright. The nose unfolds a medley of ripe red fruits, including raspberries and blueberries, interlaced with elegant toasted notes of caramel and vanilla. On the palate, it is silky and full-bodied, showcasing flavours of plum jam, blackberries, and a touch of sweet spice. Soft tannins provide a luscious texture, while a long, balanced finish lingers with hints of roasted coffee and dark chocolate. The Solanera 2020 pairs beautifully with red meats, roast lamb, and strong cheeses, making it a versatile companion for hearty meals or special occasions.
