Overview:
Rippon Tinker’s Field Pinot Noir 2021 is the voice of one of the estate’s most treasured parcels. A gentle north-facing slope formed by an ancient schist ejection cone, this site is home to Rippon’s oldest vines, planted between 1982 and 1989 on their own roots and dry farmed. Named after visionary founder Rolfe Mills, known affectionately as “Tink,” the wine honours both his dream and the land he devoted his life to. With remarkable concentration, poise, and grace, Tinker’s Field embodies the power and flow that define Rippon’s heritage.
Tasting Notes:
A bouquet of plum, cherry, forest fruits and crushed stone, lifted with wild herbs and floral spice. The palate is both powerful and precise, delivering waves of dark fruit framed by saline freshness and mineral tannins. Silky yet structured, with taut acidity and immense length, this wine is a study in elegance, balance, and site expression. Its shape and depth promise many years of graceful evolution.
