Overview

Main Divide Pinot Noir is a classic expression of North Canterbury’s unique terroir, crafted using traditional Burgundian winemaking methods. The wine is the result of a smaller-than-usual crop, enhanced by a warm summer that accelerated ripening, and meticulous harvesting. Made with a blend of whole bunches and destemmed grapes, the wine is aged for 18 months in French oak, showcasing both the region's red and dark fruit character alongside savoury, earthy nuances. This Pinot Noir offers a complex, harmonious experience that will evolve beautifully over time.

Tasting Notes

The wine is a deep ruby red with a bouquet that evolves from the glass, offering a complex mix of red fruit and savoury aromas. Ripe raspberry, cherry, and pomegranate lead the way, soon followed by earthy notes of mushroom, leather, and hints of vanilla and baking spice. On the palate, the wine is rich with generous fruit weight, balanced by bright acidity and silky tannins that expand beautifully. This creates a pleasing tension, offering both length and a satisfying finish. A wine that offers both immediate enjoyment and the potential for further aging.
