Overview
The Castaño GSM is an exceptional blend of Garnacha (50%), Syrah (25%), and Monastrell (25%) from high-altitude vineyards in the heart of Yecla. Crafted from meticulously cultivated bush and trellis vines, this wine reflects the perfect harmony of these varietals. Aged for four months in a combination of French (80%) and American (20%) oak barrels, the GSM is both vibrant and elegantly structured, embodying the richness of its Mediterranean-influenced terroir.
Tasting Notes
In the glass, this wine reveals an intense dark red colour. The nose is captivating, with ripe red fruit aromas, hints of plum jam, and subtle sweet pastry undertones. On the palate, it is juicy and fruit-forward, offering layers of redcurrant, blackberries, and red plums, interwoven with spicy notes of vanilla and cacao. The tannins are soft and sweet, giving the wine a velvety texture, while its well-rounded structure leads to a flavoursome and elegant aftertaste. An ideal pairing with grilled meats, roasted vegetables, or aged cheeses.
