Overview
Pelissero Barbaresco Nubiola DOCG is a deeply rooted tribute to Nebbiolo’s historical identity. Taking its name from “Nubiola,” the term used in a 14th-century agricultural manuscript to describe this noble grape, the wine honours centuries of winemaking tradition in the Langhe. First bottled in 2001, Nubiola represents the foundation of Pelissero’s Barbaresco line—crafted with precision and integrity to showcase Nebbiolo in its purest form. Aged in both small barriques and large oak casks, this expression maintains a classic character while offering a gateway into the more refined selections of the estate.
Tasting Notes
Brilliant ruby red in colour, Nubiola reveals an aromatic interplay of ripe red fruits, delicate florals, and subtle hints of wild herbs. On the palate, it is soft yet structured, with velvety textures that unfold into notes of sweet, mature grape and a touch of savoury spice. The finish is gently dry and elegantly astringent—a signature of Nebbiolo’s tannic finesse. Poised and expressive, this Barbaresco captures both the grace and strength of its varietal heritage.
