The Joseph Drouhin Chablis Mont de Milieu offers a captivating expression of one of the region's most distinguished vineyards. Located in the south-east of the Grand Cru area, the Mont de Milieu plot benefits from an exceptional microclimate with warmer temperatures and extended sunlight hours, allowing the Chardonnay grapes to reach optimal ripeness. A site historically significant due to its proximity to the boundary between Burgundy and Champagne, the vineyard's Kimmeridgian limestone soil is rich in marine fossils, imparting the wine with its signature minerality. This wine is a tribute to the restoration efforts of Robert Drouhin in the 1960s, who revitalised the Chablis region after phylloxera devastated the area. Aged in stainless steel tanks for 7-8 months, it highlights the true character of the terroir, offering a refined and balanced taste.
