Overview
The 144 Islands Remy Jacob is a bold expression of New Zealand’s Far North, born from the rugged beauty of single-vineyard terroir. Produced by 144 Islands—a winery deeply rooted in the Bay of Islands—this wine pays homage to the historical soul of Aotearoa. With a philosophy centred on time and place, each bottle reflects the land’s untamed character and the mastery of site-specific viticulture. Remy Jacob is the result of this vision: complex, brooding, and unapologetically distinctive.
Tasting Notes
Deeply inky in the glass, Remy Jacob opens with intense black-fruited aromas. Blackberry, plum, and a hint of crushed violets, layered over an earthy core. On the palate, it delivers rich, dark fruit with a savoury edge and a rustic tannic structure reminiscent of the great Syrahs of Cornas. A subtle wildness defines its texture, giving way to a firm, lingering finish that speaks of place, heritage, and craftsmanship.
