Overview:
Delas Hermitage Rouge Domaine des Tourettes is an exceptional red wine from the renowned Hermitage appellation, crafted primarily from 100% Syrah. This wine originates from three distinct terroirs—L'Ermite, le Sabot, and the iconic Les Bessards—providing a complex and powerful expression of this celebrated region. Known for its depth, this wine reflects the unique soil diversity, combining granite, alluvial deposits, and Pliocene marl to create an exceptional drinking experience. The grapes for this cuvée are handpicked from carefully selected plots to ensure optimal ripeness. Fermentation occurs in traditional open-topped concrete tanks, with a two-day pre-fermentary skin contact period at cool temperatures. The wine undergoes maceration at controlled temperatures before being aged in French oak barrels. The proportion of new and used barrels varies with each vintage, balancing the wood influence to match the wine's tannic structure.

Tasting Notes:
The wine displays brilliant, deep red hues and opens with a complex nose, rich in blackberries, smoke, spices, leather, and black olives. On the palate, it reveals a firm yet silky structure, with a tightly-knit tannic framework that promises excellent aging potential. Its powerful and complex profile makes it an ideal candidate for long-term cellaring. Perfectly paired with red meats, particularly rare or medium-cooked cuts, game, marinated meats, or spicy stews. For optimal drinking pleasure, it is recommended to open the bottle 1 to 3 hours before serving to allow the wine to breathe and fully express its complexity.
