Overview
Quinta do Crasto Superior Red DOC is a refined red blend from the prestigious Quinta da Cabreira estate in the Douro Superior. Nestled in the sun-drenched highlands of northern Portugal, the vineyards yield grapes of exceptional character and concentration. Crafted from Touriga Nacional, Touriga Franca, Tinta Roriz, and Sousão, the wine undergoes meticulous selection, gentle crushing, and fermentation in temperature-controlled stainless steel vats, followed by 12 months of ageing in French oak barrels. This careful process results in a wine of structure, elegance, and unmistakable Douro identity.
Tasting Notes
Deep violet in colour, this wine opens with vibrant aromas of fresh berries, interwoven with hints of gum cistus and a delicate layer of spice. On the palate, it is fresh yet commanding, offering excellent volume and a firm tannic backbone. Notes of ripe berry fruit and subtle spices linger on the finish, delivering balance, depth, and finesse. A superb companion to red meats, roast beef, and grilled dishes, it is best served slightly below room temperature for optimal enjoyment.
