Overview:
Rippon Mature Vine Pinot Noir 2022 is the purest voice of Rippon’s land. Issued from all fully developed Pinot Noir vines on the estate’s iconic north-facing escarpment overlooking Lake Wānaka, this wine reflects the farm’s heart and heritage. Planted on ancient schist-based soils of terminal moraines and coarse gravels, the vines produce a wine that is both profound and articulate, carrying the essence of one of Central Otago’s most historic sites.
Tasting Notes:
Fragrant and deeply perfumed, the bouquet shows layers of wild strawberries, dark cherries, violets and subtle spice, unfolding with forest floor, blood orange and savoury undertones. The palate is refined and structured, with chalky tannins and bright acidity guiding the ripe red fruit core. Textural, poised and mineral, this wine is elegant yet powerful, offering both immediate charm and long-term cellaring potential.
