Overview:
The Scout Wines Pinot Gris is a thoughtful and textural Central Otago white, sourced from two distinct subregions: the cool, slow-ripening vineyards of Lowburn and the warmer, generous slopes of Bendigo. Crafted with a hands-off winemaking approach, it balances purity with richness, producing a wine of depth, character and subtle complexity.
Tasting Notes:
Hand-harvested fruit was gently pressed and wild-fermented for five months in large old barrels, creating richness and texture without overt oak influence. The bouquet shows baked pear, jasmine and floral lift, while a small portion of skin-fermented fruit adds spice, ginger and subtle grip. The palate is full yet poised, with layers of fruit and savoury nuance carried by fresh acidity. A cool-climate Pinot Gris of depth and intrigue, it pairs beautifully with salty cheeses, charcuterie or seafood.
